Locally owned and operated, The Chill is an 18+ Co-Ed adult amateur ice hockey league dedicated to providing an immersive experience for players at all levels. We operate in a full season format from September - May in collaboration with Premier Hockey Leagues, a leading provider of adult amateur hockey throughout North America.

The Chill operates under as an affiliate member of the Alaska State Hockey Association and USA Hockey.

There's always something exciting happening on and off the ice.
Join us for 22 regular season games between September and May plus a three game guaranteed playoff series. The season includes the annual Heritage Classic outdoor game for all teams.
Balance
Quality
The Chill will offer balanced divisions. The Summit Division for High Intermediate (B) teams, the Sourdough division for Intermediate (C) teams and our Cheechako division for experienced house league skaters & those newer to the game. (D/D2).
Through our partnership with Premier Hockey Leagues, we also have the flexibility to enter teams in the local RAHL league divisions if it is a better fit, so rest assured, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, there's a division for you!

Flexibility
Our founder Brad Spees arrived in Alaska in the late 70's and skated in rec league games including the AAHL and RAHL before retiring and founding the predecessor of The Chill, Moose Hockey Alaska in 2018. Brad's love of the game and positive attitude inspires players and teams to strive for excellence.​​​
Brad is focused on each player getting the most out of their game and believes in promoting a sense of fun and community for all players.
